Employee Spotlight of the Month – Tanushri Nguyen

EAG Services Employee Spotlight for the month of September… Tanushri Tarafder Nguyen! Tan has been with EAG Services for the past three years and currently serves as Manager with over 10 years of unique experience in Upstream Oil and Gas, airlines, and waste collection and disposal. Her areas of focus include operations management, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and process improvement.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Helping clients find solutions to problems, while learning more about the technology we implement and the industry at large.

What do you find the most challenging at EAG and how has it developed your career so far?

Closing the gap between what systems are designed to do and often what clients would like systems to do for their business. When there is a gap, it forces you to get creative! The challenge of developing a process or solution for the client really pushes you to leverage tools that you may not have used in the past. It is by overcoming those challenges that you become a stronger, better consultant.

What advice do you have for prospective candidates that want to join EAG?

If your past experience is different from the work we do at EAG, there is always something you can use from past experiences to relate back to what we do. Finding that common thread is the path toward learning something new.

What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?

With my current project, I have learned more about taxes and regulation in states other than Texas. This client operates not only in Texas, but in Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any favorite places you like to visit?

When possible to do safely, I love to travel! New York is one of my favorite repeat vacation spots – I can go to the restaurants, museums and shows over and over again!

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I started my career in the airline industry (which helped with #5 😊).

How do you balance your career and family?

Stay organized and plan ahead in both career and at home. The more you do, the less overwhelming it will be to balance both. For example, something as simple as meal planning/prepping can take the stress out of cooking lunch or dinner during the work week, leaving more time to enjoy that meal with loved ones!

Who inspires you and why?

All healthcare employees, first responders, front line workers, teachers and administrators inspire me! I could not be more thankful for their hard work to keep us all safe during these challenging times!
