EAG Services Starts Segregation of Duties Assessment & Resolution Project


HOUSTON, TX – May 27, 2016 – EAG Services, a Houston based Oil and Gas consulting firm, today announces our engagement with a Houston based energy company engaged in exploration, development and production of US Onshore resource plays. EAG has been asked to manage and participate in a Segregation of Duties assessment and develop solutions to any issues identified. Enertia is the accounting, land and division of interest solution being assessed.

Our client, who’s operating structure has evolved over the past 10 years, is taking this opportunity to evaluate their business processes, security configuration and security request process and develop methods to eliminate existing Segregation of Duty issues and prevent new issues from arising in the future. This project will also result in a list of Enertia optimization opportunities that our client can execute against in the future to streamline processes, improve reporting and enhance data integrity.

The planning phase of the project started April 19, 2016 and is scheduled to conclude at the end of June.

EAG Services scope of work for this engagement includes:

  • System & Process Analysis:
    • Evaluate and document all Accounting, Division Order and Land processes and security se9ngs to identify solution gaps, Segregation of Duty issues and process improvement opportunities.
  • Improvement Recommendation:
    • Work to improve the security model design, minimize or eliminate Segregation of Duties risks, develop audit reports, improve processing and reporting, resolve functionality gaps, and improve end user’s knowledge of how to use the system effectively.
  • Recommendation Execution:
    • Design reports and logic driven security request form, develop test scripts and execute testing, reconfigure security, test all changes and migrate all changes to the Live Environment.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan project and communication activities, report project status, risks and issues, facilitate the review and acceptance of system and process changes, and create an improvement opportunities roadmap.
