EAG Services and EAG 1Source employees are not only an asset to EAG, but also to the community. Our employees strive to give back to the communities they live in and have made a major impact throughout 2018. As a company, we fully support our employee’s community service endeavors and even have a Community Service Committee to help coordinate service projects throughout the year.
Jacqueline Carrillo, one of the heads of the Community Service Committee, gave this quote when asked why she chose to join the committee:
“Giving back to our local Houston community is something EAG employees are passionate about. Most of the events and charities that we engage with mean something to someone at our company. For instance, some of us absolutely love helping children in need, which is why our YMCA backpack drive keeps growing every year. It’s so inspiring to see how many of our employee’s share a passion about giving back and volunteering outside of work hours. There are times where we are volunteering at events and we end up hearing/learning why each of us give back. Several of our events have turned into great team building opportunities.
Personally, I grew up volunteering with my family and it’s just something I’ve become passionate about. As a kid, I remember helping in local campaigns, assisting my father host National Night in our neighborhood, and bringing holiday cheer to senior living homes. It’s something I just really enjoy. I may not be able to change the world, but I can help make a small difference in my community or someone’s life by just giving my personal time.
The MS150 Bike ride from Houston to Austin is my biggest event of the year. What started off as a personal fitness goal ended up becoming a ride in honor of my best friend, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013. Since then, I have devoted my life to do the MS150 for fundraising to help find a cure for MS.” Jacqueline Carrillo, Consultant
Throughout 2018, EAG has donated time and/or money to the following events/causes: The Periwinkle Foundation, YMCA Backpack drive, The Beacon, Interfaith Ministries, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Star of Hope, Buffalo Bayou cleanup effort, and the MS150.
EAG looks forward to continuing our partnerships with these organizations in 2019. We encourage our clients and vendors to discover organizations they are passionate about and find a way to get involved!
